First week of school

I KNOW I KNOW IT'S BEEN FIVE DAYS. First, nothing really happened. Then I was tired from school. THEN the internet went out again. Soooooo here I am now. Since we last talked, I have gone on the Plymouth Eye, started school, and found the American food section of the BRAND NEW TESCO THAT IS IN MY BUILDING. The Plymouth eye was cool. For some reason I got on free. I have no idea why, they just handed me a ticket and told me to get in line. I was in a little pod thing with two other girls. I was hoping to get one by myself, but that didn't happen. It was a pretty sunny day, so I figured it was a good time to go. Then on Monday, I started school. It was like starting school anywhere else. French is going to be good. My professor is actually French and he has a stuffed platypus named Darwin that you toss from person to person to give answers. There are only like 13 or 14 of us, so I think that is going to be my favorite class. My second class on Monday was in an auditorium that was...

I went on an adventure...

I went on an adventure today. My dad called me and told me I should go find the Mayflower Steps. I told him no, that I just wanted to lay in bed. But when I hung up, I decided why not? It was a sunny day so I got up, got dressed, and walked up to the Hoe. I walked down past the lighthouse and over to the Barbican where I found the Mayflower Steps (which funny enough aren't steps). I hung around there for awhile and then made my way back to the Hoe hoping to make it in time to catch a ride on the Plymouth Eye. Sadly I was too late (which is ridiculous because there was several hours of sun left). So the next sunny day that we have (which is supposed to be tomorrow) I am going to go ride the eye and probably go to the aquarium. Did you guys know that we have the best aquarium in the country right here in Plymouth? So I think that will be pretty awesome. I am getting used to doing things alone. I might try to go find a movie theater and go to a movie. I know. You're thinking ...

Things and Stuff.

So yesterday turned out to be a pretty crappy day. It started out good. I got a lot of stuff done, figured out a lot of things that I was confused about, got my classes are sorted. Then minutes before I was supposed to Skype my mom and the Grandmas, the internet went down FOR FIVE HOURS. It finally came back up when my mom got back home. So I don't really get to talk to them until Sunday. I didn't leave my room in those 5 hours because each time I asked reception when it would be back up, they assured me only a few minutes. It was not a few minutes. I would have had time to go get laundry detergent and wash my clothes. But I didn't because I was convinced that it was going to come back on. It didn't. Today I bought a lot of stuff that I needed, found the buildings my classes will be in (I only go to school three days a week, so I won't be hating life), and now I am back in my bed feeling a little sick. You that kinda cold that you feel when you are shivery and you ...

The last three days

Where have I been? I have been in my bed. Why haven't I updated anything? Because nothing has happened. Absolutely nothing. I have gone to the majority of my induction week activities (getting a folder, picking modules (which are classes for those of you that don't know), learning about what language courses are offered, meeting other exchange students), I have bought some food (SOME being the key word. The biggest meal I have had since my dad left me was a mini deep dish pizza that I heated up in the microwave for dinner last night. My flatmates go out and drink most nights. Last night they had a party in our kitchen. I didn't go, if you were wondering. Big groups of people make me extremely nervous. I can barely handle being in the same room talking to the 8 of them. I did watch a movie with most of them on Tuesday night though, so you can't get that mad at me. I got to talk to my warehouse kitties on Skype the past couple days. So that's exciting. I really miss ...

Plymouth

Hello there everyone! Good evening! Good afternoon! Good morning! Whatever it might be for you in whatever timezone you just happen to be in. For me, it is night. Everyone is just starting to go out (uni is throwing a party that doesn't end until like 4am. IT'S SO WEIRD BECAUSE IT IS A SUNDAY NIGHT) and I am staying in. I get the flat to myself I think. I *tried* to figure out how to use the hob (that is the stove for all of you non-British folk) and I was failing miserably. I had two flatmates and one of their friends help me. Then, when it like turned off, they came back over until it was working. Everyone is soooo super nice here. Anyway, I'm here to update you on everything that has happened to me in Plymouth since I arrived on Thursday. So we here go.  We got here Thursday, took a cab to my dad and sister's hotel, and then my dad and I took my bags to the temporary room that they had put me in due to mine not being ready. So we dropped stuff off and then walked ba...

I would like to take the time to  thank the two main people in my life. My Parents. If it weren't for these two fantastic people I wouldn't be alive, I wouldn't be the person I am today, and I wouldn't be where I am today. I don't think I tell them enough, or possibly ever have, how much I appreciate everything they do for me. These two are my number one fans. They are more like my friends than parents. I would rather sit and watch a movie with them at home than go out. I miss them so much and I am so grateful for them allowing me to be where I am right now (which is England, if you didn't know). I can't wait to see them at Christmas. I love you mommy and daddy. You will always be my favorites. <3                                                          I would also like to thank this adorable guy. For makin...

London.

Good evening friends, family, boyfriend, stranger, whoever you might be. I'm going to tell you about our time in one of my absolute favorite places: London, England. Let's begin, shall we? We hopped on a train from Paris and headed back to the wondrous United Kingdom. I actually stayed awake for the Chunnel, although it wasn't anything special, it was just dark. So we arrived in London, hopped on the tube (I love the tube. I apparently love the smell of grease and oil because down there smells fantastic to me), and headed to our hotel in Earls Court. Now, my dad found this hotel on Expedia. It gave him a deal where you get a 4 star hotel if you just book it right then, without looking at it. Expedia has never let us down, so why not? WHATEVER YOU DO, DO NOT DO THIS. This was in no way a four star hotel. It was terrible. Wifi was expensive. There was literally a sign above the toilet that said "Dear Guest, Please  please, Do NOT throws toilet paper toilet paper in th...
