Plymouth

Hello there everyone! Good evening! Good afternoon! Good morning! Whatever it might be for you in whatever timezone you just happen to be in. For me, it is night. Everyone is just starting to go out (uni is throwing a party that doesn't end until like 4am. IT'S SO WEIRD BECAUSE IT IS A SUNDAY NIGHT) and I am staying in. I get the flat to myself I think. I *tried* to figure out how to use the hob (that is the stove for all of you non-British folk) and I was failing miserably. I had two flatmates and one of their friends help me. Then, when it like turned off, they came back over until it was working. Everyone is soooo super nice here. Anyway, I'm here to update you on everything that has happened to me in Plymouth since I arrived on Thursday. So we here go. We got here Thursday, took a cab to my dad and sister's hotel, and then my dad and I took my bags to the temporary room that they had put me in due to mine not being ready. So we dropped stuff off and then walked back to see if McKenna wanted to get some dinner. But she was sick and wanted nothing to do with food, so we went down to the Barbican, which is like a whole bunch of restaurants and pubs and things down by the water. We ate at a pasta place where I had the most bland spaghetti and meatballs to ever exist and then I think my dad walked me home and then I spent my first night alone here. The next day I had orientation so I went to that, but got a two hour lunch break. So my dad and I went to Drake Circus, which is a big mall, and ate Burger King (of all things). I went back to orientation and then afterwords, I went to my room only for them to tell me that I was going to be moving that night. So I packed all my stuff, called my dad who brought Kenna over and they were going to help me move and unpack. After we waited and waited they said that they would move my stuff if we wanted to go eat. So we did. We got some Chinese takeout (which was not very good) and took it back to their hotel. We laid in bed, ate, and watched TV. Then when we went back, they came to tell us that I was not actually moving that night, and I was to stay in the temporary room until the next morning. So they left and I went to sleep. They were leaving the next morning, so I had to get into my room and empty the suitcase that they were taking home for me as fast as possible. So I woke up really early and ran downstairs. One of the RAs seemed to kind of adopt me and she helped me move my stuff herself. I quickly threw stuff everywhere and was on my way dragging an empty suitcase back to the hotel. I only had about an hour with them before I had to go to orientation. So my dad and I ate breakfast and watched a little TV. Saying goodbye was really really hard. I usually see my dad all day almost every day so not seeing him all the time is going to be really hard for me. I went to orientation then went back to my room and started unpacking. I met all but one of my flatmates yesterday and we had a kitchen meeting with like 8 other kitchens and an RA. I came back, had a bowl of cereal, and went to watch movies. Our hall is very very echoey so you always know when someone gets home... Today has been pretty lazy. I have had a headache most of the day, so I watched movies, took a nap, then went to some stupid orientation thing for first years that I was told was mandatory (I'm not a first year. I don't like icebreaker games. It was not fun). I came back, had some spaghetti, and now I am here writing to you. I hope you are all having a very nice evening. I am going to turn the lights off and live in the dark until tomorrow. I'll post some pictures of my room and our kitchen for you below. I love you guys!! :) <3
