I love France Part One.

It has been a very long time, and I apologize for that. This is going to be a very long post, so let's get crackin. I have quite a bit to update you on. I apologize in advance if I use the words 'so' and 'then' a ton, but that's how I write and that's how it's going to go. So. Last we spoke I was heading to Nice. I went to Nice. It was really really great. Well most of it. But we will get to that. The pictures will probably be out of order... sorry...

Sunday: The first day was pretty uneventful. We traveled. We got to the hotel. I almost didn't have a place to sleep. We got it figured out, and I ended up rooming with the other American on the trip, my new friend, Eileen. So we rested for a minute, fixed up faces and changed and whatnot and headed out to walk around before dinner with four other girls and two of the guys. We ended up finding a ferris wheel and the six of us girls decided to go on it while the guys went to find a drink. It was really really great. We were lucky we went because that was the last day. So after that, we went to try to find the boys, but we were not following their directions very well and ended up at the sea. Since it was getting dark and close to dinner time, we headed back to the hotel. Shortly after that, we met with the entire group to go to dinner. We ate at a restaurant just around the corner, it was really really good but really really long. Salad, chicken and fries (chips, if you wanna be British about it) in a delicious cheesy sauce, and a raspberry dessert thing. Then we went back, and basically passed out because we were exhausted.

Monday: On the second day, we went on a coach tour around Nice, then to Monaco and to Monte Carlo in Monaco, and finally to a perfume factory. The coach tour was really interesting, but the coach got ridiculously hot and everyone kept falling asleep. But we learned quite a bit about the city and Monaco (which is only a mile long and has 5 counties. Bet you didn't know that, huh?). In Monaco, we were given a couple hours of free time to walk around and explore. First we watched the changing of the guard at the palace, which was really cool, and ate some ice cream. Then we (for the first two days any 'we' that I refer to is Eileen and I) wandered off with the four guys and two other girls. We went for food (they all ate pizza with their knives and forks while I ate a chocolate crepe with just a fork (well I cut it with the knife, but I didn't eat with both utensils in my hands) like the American that I am) and then walked around the city for awhile. It was really good. We didn't do much at all but walk around. So we got back on the bus and headed for Monte Carlo where we were given about half an hour to check out the famous casino. It's really small and I couldn't take any pictures inside of it or I would have. A couple of the guys gambled and won some money, but most of us left and made our own way down the bus. We then went to the perfume factory, which was probably my favorite part of the day so far. So we were walked through the process of making perfume, we watched a man punch out bars of soap, saw a bunch of other cool things that I can't remember, and then we were taken to the store. she showed a bunch of different perfumes and things that they made there and it was fantastic. I bought two. We then walked up to a city called Eze, but not all of us walked to the top, because we were already completely exhausted and it looked like a long way up there.

We went back to the hotel, took naps, and got ready to go get dinner with most of our group. One of the girls seemed to just want to drink (because she said she knew a place with good drinks) while a lot of us (which was probably mainly just me) were starving (and I was getting super grumpy). She said she knew a place for food and so we followed her. Now, after we had been walking for a very long time, I started to get really really grumpy. If she had gotten anywhere near me, I probably would have hit her because he had just been zig zagging our way around the city. We found a place and then she was like, "Look there's Wayne's, the place with the drinks," and I was so mad that I was actually going to hit her. But a couple people looked at the menu and said it looked fine and so we went. We went in and it was awesome. There was an acoustic group playing and it was just a cool place. I was very very angry that I liked it and I hated the way that we ended up there. We ordered food, and I got a beer. A Desperados to be exact. I actually liked it, its like 5.9% alcohol and has tequila in it, but whatever (and because it has tequila in it, it is illegal to sell in the US). I ended up having three and getting drunk. I am a lightweight. I wasn't like super wasted, but I was just very very happy and I kept saying "I don't do this" and I wouldn't shut up. So it was a really really fun night. Another band came on and we danced. I danced on a stool and table and almost fell off. :) Fun. We went back to the hotel earlier than most because we were exhausted and we wanted to have an early start the next day because we were going to Italy!

Due to the massive amounts of pictures and the current time, I have decided to make this into two posts. I will write the rest tomorrow and get it posted. And before anyone says anything, I KNOW that my grey hoodie looks awful, so please, leave me alone about it. It was all I was willing to carry with me.

Love you guys!
