The one that is super delayed.
Three and a half months late, that's apparently how I do it.
So. I said my goodbyes to Alice (which was terrible, as it always is) and then, not feeling super well, got on a train to Durham. I was planning on touring the castle and everything, but after arriving, feeling like crap, and then getting super lost walking to my hotel (because the train station didn't have any taxis), I was so tired and grumpy that I climbed into my king size bed, ordered room service, and slept. The next morning, I got up and headed to London. When I arrived at Kings Cross, I had Lucy waiting for me! We couldn't get into our flat yet, so we decided to go grab some food (at Nando's, obviously) before making our way to South Kensington.
Upon arriving in South Kensington, we got into our Flat. We knew it was going to be small, but holy hell. It was tiny. The bathroom was ridiculous. The windows faced an alley, which was fine, but we got no airflow. It was so hot in that flat we kind of wanted to die. Once we got settled into the flat, we headed out into London to catch a train to meet Lucy's family for afternoon tea, which was absolutely lovely. I've never had a real, fancy afternoon tea. We then went back to Lucy's where I got to pet her adorable cats (who remind me a lot of my two work cats) and then we went to dinner at an Indian restaurant down the road. By the time we got halfway through the meal, I was so full that I was ready to burst, having had Nando's, Tea, and then a big, delicious meal.
The next day was Harry Potter Day!!!!! We went to the Warner Brother Studio Tour and it was amazing, even though I've been twice before. We walked around for hours, I FINALLY got to see the Hogwarts Express, we had Butterbeer ice cream and just regular Butterbeer (which is not as good as what we have at the parks here in America), and we even got to go into Number 4 Privet Drive! It was fantastic. I couldn't believe it because, last I knew, it had closed only days before I arrived in London. It was such a popular attraction that they decided to keep it open until 1 September (I think, could be wrong).
On my last and final day in London, Lucy & I met Lucy's parents at the outlets next to the venue they were going to see Coldplay at that night. It was really cool. I wish I could have see Coldplay there because they are amazing. We shopped, I bought a bright blue backpack and a Super Dry coat, plus a ridiculous amount of Lindt chocolate from the Lindt store. We didn't get to go paddle boating in Hyde Park, but I will find a way to do that sometime in the future. We got back to the flat and decided to have a night in watching movies. I believe I made her watch A Million Ways to Die in the West.
The next morning we grabbed a coffee and headed to Paddington so I could catch the Heathrow Express to get to the airport with my ridiculous amount of crap.
This trip was amazing. I need to go back to Scotland, I want to go to all the islands and explore even more of the Highlands.
I *might* have another trip in the works coming up soon. Keep your fingers cross!
Thank you all for reading, if you've made it to the end.
For future trips, I'll try to post closer to when the trip actually ended.. :)
